I have a trip to Thailand in 2 weeks. I am afraid this wont be a leisure trip but hard work doing a conference for a company called Avaya.
This is my second conference in Bangkok and this time we get to spend it in a georgous hotel, Le Meridien downtown Bangkok. I hope this time around I will get some time to tan by the pool.
Have also just booked my flight to Iceland on the 30th of May, arriving on the 31st. The current plan is to fly straight to Iceland, enjoy the good food, spending time with family and friends and go swimming every day.
I might change it and come home a little earlier but Jarrad only has 8 days holiday left and therefore cant join me until the 31st. We leave again on 10th of June to go and see Bon Jovi in concert in Wembley which will be so fantastic!!! It will also be the first concert in the new Wembley stadium and I get to go, how cool is that! Jarrad tries his best to fake interest in 'Living on a Prayer' and 'It's my life' but blows his cover when he fails to do the mandatory knock in the air whilst headbanging to 'Its my life'. Some people just dont get it.
We have 2 friends who will fly out from HKG to join us in the concert and Jarrad has a friend in London who will also join. Should be historical.
I got an email from a friend the other day. 'We are going to Frans Ferdinand on 14th of February, who is in?' I hit reply to all and asked where that cool sounding place was. Before long, Jarrad had hit reply to all and wrote 'who is he?' Frans Ferdinand are apparently some Norwegian/Glasgowan band that plays music people like. I've never heard them, I think. Yet I have a ticket to go. When did this happen that I dont know any bands anymore nor their music? Given that I am still stuck in the Bon Jovi era, this may have happened in the 80s.
Another prime example is this. I jumped at first chance to get tickets to see Oasis. I know them, the troubled brothers and they arent so nice to my Robbie (Williams), stealing his girlfriend and all. Yeah, I'd go and see them. I'm humming away all their most famous songs and looking forward to the show. Only the music I thought was theirs, really is Suede. Bjarki has since tried singing Wonderwall which rings familiar bells, but still deep down inside, I was hoping to go and see Suede. I like their music, can hum along to almost all of their Best Of disc. Now I have to download some Oasis songs and hope that they have any songs besides Wonderwall that I can sing to. Not that it'd be in the right key of course, but hell, who cares when you're in a concert!? Jarrad loves me still...
